Window Wordz is a raw and thought-provoking concrete sculpture series by Silence Melbourne, created to explore the connection between language, emotion and what sits beneath the surface.
Each sculptural column represents a person. The carved linework across the exterior symbolises words and communication in an abstract form. Look closely and you may notice shapes, marks or symbols that feel personal, familiar or open to interpretation.
The broken openings act as windows into the inner self. Through these spaces, tangled recycled rusted wire becomes visible, representing the thoughts, experiences, stress, fears and hopes we carry inside. The wire rises from bottom to top, reflecting the journey from past to future and the complexity that often remains hidden beneath the surface.
Made from sand, cement and recycled rusted wire, Window Wordz balances strength and fragility, structure and emotion. It is a sculptural reminder to listen more carefully to the words around us and consider what they may be revealing.
